ANFT Nature & Forest Therapy Guide
Certified (provisional) 2024 | ANFT Cohort #120

It’s been a privilege to have lived in Singapore for half a century and to truly call this special island home. I’m a School Counsellor and mindfulness teacher, I take every opportunity to bring nature into my therapy room and take my therapy outside. For as long as I can remember I’ve loved being in nature. I grew up in rural Somerset, UK and headed off into the forest with my dog as often as I could. The awe and appreciation of the natural world remains a tonic, a chance to slow down, notice, and simply be. I’d say that nature carried me through those pandemic years, I explored pretty much every corner of Singapore. A few years on, I discovered the art of Forest Bathing, I knew this was extraordinarily special, something was ignited within me and I trained to become a Forest and Nature Therapy Guide. I resonate deeply with the key tenant of this practice, that nature is the therapist and my role, as guide, is to open the door. I am humbled each time I guide, it’s an honour, to share this approach with others and bear witness to discoveries, accessing of inner-knowing and the symbiotic relationship between nature and ourselves.
